Name and description of project:

Development of Forest School and Environmental Area – Storage shed and equipment to develop the forest school and environmental areas of school. Assisting the mental wellbeing and learning for the children.

DECISION:

To provide funding of £250 to the above project.

Reason for decision:

We believe that understanding the natural environment is very important, particularly at the present moment.  Lyminge Primary School have progressed successfully so far with the support of staff and parents, but additional funding is required to purchase the equipment and materials for further developing the areas, including each classes design. Already they are seeing benefits for the children, with more engagement and understanding of the importance of understanding nature and encouraging children to take time away from electronics to enjoy it.

The funding would demonstrate that investing in the environment and nature is a worthwhile thing to do and will help the children appreciate that is also worth their time and investment.
