PLATINUM JUBILEE CELEBRATION FAMILY FRIENDLY FREE MUSIC & FUN WEEKEND – mainly on the music element.

 This event is principally aimed at families – young and old and of whatever race - and the aim is to have free entertainment and fun for the local community and visitors.The young people who participate should gain confidence, greater understanding and new skills.

 We aim to bring more visitors to the town, to increase footfall and trade through organising events, which is good for the community, and helps with the general appearance and atmosphere.

 We also aim to bring education and entertainment to residents who would not be able to afford to pay for this type of entertainment. In surveys carried out they have also encouraged us to progress with different ideas and make more use of the area.

 Folkestone Festivals work in partnership with many local businesses, organisations and groups. Volunteers set up, run and organise festivals, events, activities, bandstand concerts and specialist markets. Volunteers, residents and businesses are involved.

This event is aimed at encouraging different ethnic communities to communicate, co-operate and understand each other’s communities, customs and music. This we feel will help residents to live and work together with more understanding and tolerance.
