Charivari Day 2022 – The grant will be spent on purchase of materials to make carnival costumes with children and young people from across the district. 

To provide funding of £100 to the above project.

Reason for decision:

This event is now 25 years old and has continued to attract participation from both schools and members of the public since 1997. It is a significant community event for Folkestone and brings together participants and spectators from many backgrounds and walks of life. Because of Covid we have not been able to have a carnival parade for two years and we know that it has been missed greatly by the community. The route from the Fishmarket to The Leas Bandstand is lined with thousands of spectators who come along to enjoy this free event and to enjoy watching the parade.
